Tussen de regendruppels door

Op donderdagavond komen we aan in een droog Nederland met een niet al te vervelende temperatuur. Maar wanneer ik op vrijdagochtend de kapperszaak uitstap, is mijn nieuwe coiffure direct naar de filistijnen in de eerste regenbui waarin ik terechtkom. De rest van de opvolgende dag(en) wordt het niet veel beter, maar ik ben al lang blij weer even in dit kikkerlandje te zijn!

Discovering Unknown Talents

For the second assignment of the travel writing course, I had to describe ‘today’. From when I got up, until I went to bed. Quite boring, you would think. But it was not! I set off to describe my last Sunday and was amazed by how I could write an interesting story about that. A story so much different from the diary blogs I usually write to keep friends and family updated.

To the Zoo

Kids in Macedonia have about three months of summer holiday every year. This probably has something to do with the fact that it’s basically too hot to go to school, especially if the building doesn’t have air-conditioning. But still, it is a long time…

Movies (not) to Watch

Even though it’s still a breezy 35 degrees around here, even though we currently live with three people in our tiny apartment, even though we are all crazy busy working during the day, we still find time to watch a movie now and then.
