Weekend of Witzy Woodles
13 Nov
Or how we stayed home for a weekend.
Friday evening
“What shall we do tonight?” “I would like to eat out, but I’m in the middle of something I need to finish.” “OK, we can go later, I will find some company … 19:00 with K&A alright?” “Yup.”
While having dinner at the Arabic restaurant, Boyfriend starts using a worrisome lot of paper handkerchiefs. So instead of going to the film festival (my second intended attempt – I missed Thursday because I was working late while the movie was early), we went home, ready for a weekend of sniffles.
Saturday
“I should take the car to change the tires.” “You should stay in bed with your new friend Toilet Paper Roll.” “You are probably right..” “I know..”
And so I wrote an application in the morning, prepared lunch, read some hilarious lines in the book Everything is Illuminated (“Mother dubs me Alexi-stop-spleening-me! because I am always spleening her”, “I’m underwhelmed to the maximum” and “were you able to manufacture Z’s?”) and went to the center for a book-exchange-and-snack-eating-date with S..
After that, we went to the international film festival, all prepared with tickets previously purchased. I was very excited; because while this was my third intended visit, it was the first actual one. Now I was really underwhelmed to the maximum, when it turned out the Spanish-French movie on this international film festival with English website and all, only had Macedonian subtitles. Gosh. I think this is the first time I ever walked out on a movie…
We went to a nice tea house. And after that, I went home and watched the movie I missed on my Thursday instead.

Sunday
“How are you today?” “Better.” “Do you need a new toilet paper roll?” “Yes, please.” Boyfriend was not even fit enough to prepare his usual sunday-eggs-breakfast. Instead I gave him fruit yoghurt with muesli. And a vitamin-paracetamol-shot of course.
To be a good housewife, I also (tried to) make a cake. After a delighting Skype conference call with Mother and Sister, I decided to be rebellious and mix two totally different recipes and oven settings. It was not that the cake was bad, really.. it was just.. not perfect. We still ate it.
To be a bad housewife, I left Boyfriend at home and went into the city with his brother to take some photos of the old city. We found the old inn without even looking for it, while I never found it being with my former guests, then walking circles instead. I will never figure out the old city the way I figured out the board game Labyrinth…
Oh, and I gave up one the film festival all together.
Lets just go somewhere again next weekend.
